“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!"
—Luke 24:5-6
This post has been the hardest one to write.
Today is Easter. It the day to rejoice in the most glorious news ever proclaimed. It is the the day to remember the greatest act of love ever shown to mankind, that Christ died for us, to take our burdens on Himself. And not only that, but far more—that through the power of love, He was resurrected, forever conquering death, that those who believe may be forgiven, and live a new life full of hope.
No matter how hard our lives, no matter how dark the world we live in may be, we are able to have hope.
Because the Light is not out there, not in the world. It is with Jesus, and Jesus lives. When we believe in Him, He lives within us; and so the Light lives within us. And if the Light is within us, we can never be alone, never without hope.
It is a beautiful message that lives within us daily, echoing strong through the bonds of time and the pain of hardship. Yet that is precisely why it is so difficult for me to write it. How could I take something so pure, so deep and beautiful, and express it with mere words? I cannot.
But I have tried anyway.
And perhaps I had no need to, because the message already lives, lives in you, in your heart and mind and soul.
Happy Easter, my friends.
