To all the great dads out there—you light up our world.
The Little Men
There are little men, up in the sky,
But they're unseen. I'll tell you why:
They climb up to the stars each night—
It's hard to see them, in the light.
These little men—what do they do?
If you stay still, I will tell you:
When nighttime comes, they travel far,
To find, for me and you, a star.
These little men each hold a lamp;
They climb the sky upon a ramp
And carefully light the stars you see,
So they shine down on you and me.
When sun awakes and dawn comes round,
These little men don't make a sound,
But sweetly lull the stars to sleep;
Then down to earth again they leap.
So that is why you never see
These little men of mystery.
Now listen, dear, and listen well,
For one more secret I shall tell.
When sun comes up and moon goes down,
These little men come to our town;
You never know, who in your sight,
Goes to light the stars each night.
